It's that time of year again.
Christmas is almost upon us and many people will be celebrating with family and friends by sharing gifts, being festive and creating special memories with loved ones. It is a time of great joy, love and kindness. This year we felt that the world could do with a bit more joy, love and kindness and asked our team to nominate a gift that they would like to give to their community, the country or the world.
Below are just some of the gift ideas that we really hope Santa can deliver this year.
Rain, especially in those areas affected by drought and bush fires.
Connection, check on your neighbour or a colleague and start a conversation with them, it will make a world of difference.
Get Active, volunteer your time to your local community. Help with a sports team, read at the library, join your local fire brigade. Help out and play an active role in your community.
Recycle, your waste, your water, your clothes and belongings. Make a start now, it will make a big difference in the future.
Understanding, we don't have to agree but let's try and understand each other more. Let's listen to each other and respect our differences and don't ignore what we have in common.
Kindness, show a little bit everyday especially to people you don't know. Be patient with people and help out where you can.
Less, less things, less food, less clothes, less streaming, less waste-many of us already have more than enough and we need to appreciate what we have, more.
Awareness, about our impact on the world, the environment, history and our place in the world. We need to ask more questions, find our own answers and learn more about what is happening around us.
Grow More, plant more flowers and grow your own vegetables-it's not hard to do and you will not only save money but enjoy eating the things you have grown.
Appreciation and Acceptance, we have enough, we are enough and we need to see and appreciate what is around us. Learn to accept rather than compare and enjoy what we have rather than wanting more and more things.
Happy Christmas Everybody
