We have a team of over 350 staff and we offer supported independent living, specialised disability accommodation, home care, support coordination, and Behaviour Support.
QHC is looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who can work with individuals, their families, friends, and supports to achieve set goals to improve the participants quality of life. Your Role
Provide services aligned with the Quality and Safeguarding framework including demonstrating a commitment to reducing and eliminating Regulated Restrictive Practices
Undertake Functional Behaviour Assessments for behaviours of concern
Develop Behaviour Support Plans that address behaviours of concern and enhance the quality of life for participants
Support implementation of Behaviour Support Plans with participants and their stakeholders within and outside of the NDIS
Engaging in positive relationships with participants and key stakeholders whilst embodying QHC values and culture.
Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and work with participants and stakeholders to make required adjustments
Work towards furthering positive behaviour support approaches within and outside of Quality Health Care
Essential Criteria
Solid understanding of the role of a Behaviour Support Practitioner, including assessing, developing, and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Assessed by the NDIS at being Core or above as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
A commitment to understanding the relevant legislation and the Disability Service Standards
Experience in supporting people with intellectual disabilities, mental health disorders, and behaviours of concern.
Hold relevant qualifications and/or experience. We encourage people who are psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, or teachers to apply.
